Frequently Asked Questions About Our Treatment Menu

I’m not sure which menu I should choose.

We recommend different courses depending on which areas of your body feel the most tired or tight.
Each menu page explains who it is best suited for, so please take a look there.
You can see all of our menus here:
Treatment Menu »

How long should I book for?

It depends on your condition and the individual, but for Body Treatment we generally recommend 60 minutes or longer, and for Body & Dry Head Spa (and other combined courses such as face or feet) we recommend 90 minutes or longer so we can treat the whole body.
There is a big difference between working on only one area and treating the entire body. A full-body session can help improve overall circulation and metabolism.

Do I need to remove my makeup?

No, you do not need to remove your makeup.

Can I touch up my makeup afterwards?

We do not have a dedicated makeup room, but each room is equipped with a mirror, comb, cotton swabs, oil blotting paper and other basic amenities you can use for touch-ups.

Do I have to change clothes?

It is not mandatory, but we provide comfortable change of clothes free of charge.
Most guests find it easier to relax and enjoy the treatment when they change, so we recommend it.

Can I nominate a specific therapist?

Yes. You can nominate a specific therapist for an additional fee of ¥650.
The same fee applies if you request “anyone except a particular therapist”.

Can I request a male or female therapist?

Yes, you can request a male or female therapist. A nomination fee of ¥650 will apply.

Can two people book the same time slot?

Online booking cannot handle multiple guests in one reservation, so if you are visiting with more than one person, we recommend booking by phone.

I received a gift card. How do I make a reservation?

Please make a reservation online via this website or by phone, just as you would for a regular booking.
Be sure to bring your gift card with you on the day of your visit.

Can I book on the same day?

Yes, if there is availability you can book even right before your visit.
However, we may have to decline if we are fully booked at that time. Weekends tend to be especially busy, so booking in advance is recommended.

Can I decide my menu after I arrive at the salon?

We can certainly discuss your condition after you arrive and help you decide, but depending on timing and availability there may be some menus we cannot offer on the spot.

Can men receive treatments?

Yes, men are very welcome.

Can I receive a treatment if I am pregnant?

If you are in a stable period of pregnancy and not yet at full term, you can receive treatment.
We treat you primarily in side-lying and face-up positions so that your abdomen and baby are not compressed.

Is there an age limit?

No, there is no age limit.

Are there cases where you cannot provide treatment?

Yes. If you have been drinking alcohol, have a fever, or are feeling generally unwell, treatment may worsen your condition or in rare cases lead to a medical incident.
Please wait until you feel better, and if you have had alcohol, visit us after the effects have worn off.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. We accept VISA, Master, JCB, AMEX and Diners.
PayPay is also available.

Can I get a receipt?

Yes, we can issue a receipt.
Please note that it will be for “bodywork / massage treatment” and cannot be used for medical expense deductions.

Do I need to bring my health insurance card?

No, you do not. Health insurance cannot be used for our treatments.

Do you have parking?

We do not have our own parking spaces. Please use nearby coin-operated parking lots.
You can check details on the Access page for each location.

Is the treatment painful?

We adjust the pressure to your preference (around “comfortable to pleasantly strong”) while checking with you, so it should not feel painfully uncomfortable.
If at any time it feels too strong or painful, please tell your therapist immediately. Continuing to endure pain may cause muscle soreness afterwards.

It’s my first time, so I don’t know how strong the pressure should be.

As a guideline, think of “comfortable to pleasantly strong”.
Some people believe that “the more it hurts, the more effective it is” and end up enduring too much, but this can actually damage the muscle fibers.
Your therapist will first check your muscles and ask “Is this pressure okay?” but sensitivity varies greatly from person to person, so please tell us if it feels painful.
You can request adjustments to the pressure at any time during the session.
For more about pressure levels, please see this page:
About Treatment Pressure »

I prefer “kneading” rather than straight “pressing”. Can you do that?

We do not offer kneading-style techniques.
Our basic approach is to spend sufficient time applying straight pressure to gently release deep muscle tension without damaging the tissue, and we have found that kneading does not allow us to work in this way.
We are highly trained in Deep Muscle Approach, which is based on Shiatsu-style direct pressure.
Because we have focused deeply on this one method, we can provide confident, consistent results with “pressing”, but we have not trained in kneading and therefore prefer not to offer it halfway.
For more about why we do not knead, please see:
Why We Don’t “Knead” »

I’m worried about soreness after the session.

Our treatments use straight pressure: we press directly in, hold, and then release straight out without rubbing.
Because of this, we are less likely to damage muscle fibers, and post-treatment soreness is rare.
Techniques that rub or knead across the direction of the muscle fibers tend to cause more damage, so we avoid those for safety reasons.

Is your Oil Foot Massage the same as reflexology?

No. Our Oil Foot Massage is a direct massage to the feet and soles, and we do not use the reflexology “reflex zone” concept.
It is ideal when you have tired feet from standing or walking for long periods, or when you feel heaviness or swelling. We work directly on the feet to relieve that discomfort.
We do not try to treat shoulder stiffness via the feet, for example. If your shoulders are tight, we recommend a Body Treatment course.
Rather than working from reflex zones, we simply treat the areas that you actually feel are tired or uncomfortable.
